In 2004 Wanganui's dramatic landscape became the setting for the historic adventure movie River Queen which was set in the turbulent New Zealand wars of the 1860s. Hundreds of Wanganui people were involved in all facets of its production.  When you stay with us we invite you to rent our DVD player to watch this exciting movie in the comfort of your room.
